Feb. 11, 2010. 8:28 p.m. The Pocomoke City Vol. Fire Co. & Pocomoke EMS responded to a commercial structure fire at Wal Mart. In addition, Stockton, New Church and Greenbackville were alerted. There was a fire on the potato chip aisle of the store. Store employees were able to extinguish the blaze with fire extinguishers. The Store was filled with smoke. Employees and customers were evacuated. There were no injuries reported. The Worcester County Fire Marshal's Office is investigating and the fire is considered arson. (City)

The Worcester County Fire Marshal’s Office is investigating a commercial structure fire which occurred on February 11, 2010. The fire was reported at 8:28 pm by an occupant of the structure. The commercial structure involved in the fire was the Super Wal-mart located at 2132 Old Snow Hill Road, Pocomoke, Maryland 21851 in Worcester County. The store was occupied at the time of the fire and all occupants were able to escape with no injuries reported. First arriving fire units reported smoke showing from the interior of the commercial structure. Firefighters from the Pocomoke, Stockton, New Church, and Greenbackville Volunteer Fire Companies responded and quickly extinguished the fire. The fire was contained prior to the arrival of the fire service by employees utilizing portable fire extinguishers. The fire originated in the grocery section of the store. The fire is listed as intentionally set or arson. Arrest Made in February 11th Arson Fire at Pocomke Walmart

The Worcester County Fire Marshal's Office has arrested and charged a 20 year old Pocomoke City man for the arson which occurred at the Pocomoke Walmart during the evening hours on February 11, 2010. Vincent Vaness Harmon was charged with 1st Degree Arson and several other fire/arson related charges today (Friday, February 12, 2010). Mr. Harmon made an initial appearance before a District Court Commissioner and was committed to the Worcester County Jail on $250,000 bond pending a bond review hearing on Tuesday monring. The Worcester County Fire Marshal's Office was assisted by the Pocomoke City Police Department and the Worcester County Sherrif's Office.

The Worcester County Fire Marshal’s Office has charged a second person in the arson fire which occurred at the Pocomoke City, Maryland Super Wal-mart on Thursday, February 11, 2010. The fire kept the Wal-mart store closed for several days. Wal-mart officials put the cost of the fire through lost revenue and merchandise at just over one million dollars. Lamar Rashad Watson, 20 of Pocomoke City was charged as an accomplish in the fire. He is being held on $150,000 bond at the Worcester County Jail.
