Residential structure fire on Laurel St., In the city. The first two pictures
show what Pocomoke Firefighters were faced with when they arrived. Firefighters
entered the structure and quickly knocked the fire down. The fire was
in an upstairs room....where it appeared to have started. There were no
injuries. Upon arrival, Firefighter, Travis Cowger took command until
Chief Dicky Gladding arrived. The fire was investigated by the Worcester
County Fire Marshals Office.

The Worcester County Fire Marshal’s Office investigated a residential
structure fire at 408 Laurel Street, Pocomoke, Maryland in Worcester County.
The June 30, 2010 fire was dispatched at approximately 8:13 pm. First
arriving fire units reported fire showing from Side A of a two-story residential
dwelling. Firefighters from the Pocomoke Volunteer Fire Company made an
aggressive interior attack and quickly had the fire under control. The
dwelling involved in the fire is owned by Bryant and Christina Planter
and was occupied by nine (9) people at the time the fire was discovered.
All occupants were able to escape and no injuries were reported. The fire
originated a second floor bedroom closet. The fire was caused by a five
(5) year old playing with a lighter. No injuries were reported. Anyone
