Our Mission

The mission of the Pocomoke City Fire Company is to protect the lives and property of Pocomoke City and its surrounding area, through emergency response, education, and prevention.

PCVFC Ice & Water Rescue Team

With the recent purchase of the new and larger Rescue 1, the PCVFC was able to upgrade its technical water and ice rescue capabilities. Recently members of the PCVFC expanded their education and completed Ice Rescue Training at the Lower Eastern Shore Maryland Fire and Rescue Institute. Class topics included medical emergencies, appropriate personal protective equipment, local resources available, effective rescue communications and the necessary methodical and strategic planning needed to effectively and safely complete an ice rescue. . While our members never want to use these skills, these dedicated members continue to expand their skillset to provide the best service possible to our community and surrounding areas.
