Our Mission
The mission of the Pocomoke City Fire Company is to protect the lives and property of Pocomoke City and its surrounding area, through emergency response, education, and prevention.
About Us
We are an all volunteer fire company that was formally founded in 1888 and currently providing primary fire, rescue, and fire prevention services to the citizens of Pocomoke City and the surrounding unincorporated areas of southern Worcester and southern Somerset counties.
The department maintains a fleet of apparatus consisting of three engines, one aerial platform truck, one rescue, one tanker, one brush truck, and several utility vehicles.
At full strength the department retains a diverse roster of approximately 75 dedicated individuals of various backgrounds. Our membership includes a helicopter pilot, carpenter, rocket engineer, wastewater operator, law enforcement officers, and paramedics, just to name a few.
We assist in mitigation of approximately 250 fire, rescue, and public service incidents annually, responding out of our modern 7-bay fire station completed in 2008.
