PCVFC Winter Storm Update

February 23, 2026

Since 7:00 PM on February 22nd, the Pocomoke City Volunteer Fire Company has maintained a volunteer-staffed engine, rescue, command vehicle, and utility vehicle to serve our community. As of 2:05 PM, our members have responded to 17 calls for service, including assisting Accomack with a structure fire. The majority of incidents have been storm-related, involving vehicles off the roadway, numerous trees and limbs down, downed power and utility lines, and assisting EMS. Crews have removed countless trees and limbs since the storm began. Members also faced adverse and hazardous conditions, and in some cases, obstructions could not be safely removed. Personnel remain standing by at the station and ready to respond to any additional emergency calls.

Please continue to use caution and avoid unnecessary travel while hazardous conditions persist. Images were taken at a few incidents overnight.
