The PCVFC is happy to have recovered one of the last known original gear racks from the 5th Street firehouse! While there are no records or dates to indicate when these were originally fabricated, it is estimated they were built around 1939 when the firehouse opened. This gear rack was overlooked and left at 5th Street when we moved to our current location. Once we moved, the property was turned back over to the city. Thank you to the City for allowing us access and helping us move things around to grab this piece of history! We plan on displaying the gear rack in our firehouse in the near future.
