On 6/23/25 at 5:42 AM, the Pocomoke City Vol. Fire Co. was alerted for a motor vehicle crash on Whitesburg Rd. near Oak Hall Rd. Based on initial reports, the call was upgraded to a rescue box by Worcester 911. Rescue 1, Engine 102, Rescue Engine 3, and Rescue 4 responded. Units arrived to find a head-on collision with one vehicle in the woods. The driver was removed from the vehicle and treated by Pocomoke City Emergency Medical Services. One driver was transported to Shock Trauma by Maryland State Police Helicopter, Trooper 4. Rescue Engine 3 and Rescue 4 assisted with the landing zone. Lt. T. Cowger had command. This crash is being investigated by the Worcester County Sheriff's Office.
