Pocomoke units, Hazmat team members, and resources (comprised of the Worcester County Fire Marshal’s Office, Department of Emergency Services, and other county fire companies' hazmat personnel) worked to mitigate the fuel spill and pumped off remaining fuel. The Maryland State Highway Administration responded to assist with traffic control and spill mitigation cleanup. Southbound Ocean Hwy was shut down for several hours.
Pocomoke City Emergency Medical Services transported one patient to an area hospital. Maryland Department of the Environment was notified of the incident.
