On 4/17/26, the Pocomoke City Vol. Fire Co. responded to a wooded area on Dividing Creek Road near the power lines for an outside fire. Units arrived to find approximately 2.5 acres of woods on fire. Multiple units responded from Pocomoke as well as Girdletree and Snow Hill. Forestry also made a response with a brush truck, dozer, UTV and additional personnel. Crews operated on-scene for around 3 hours. The cause of the fire is unknown.
