Residential Structure Fire
Sunday, April 25, 2021
On 4/25/21 at 4:18 PM, the PCVFC along with neighboring mutual aid companies were alerted for a reported residential structure fire in the 100 block of Oak Street. Units arrived to find a 2 story wood frame structure with smoke showing from all sides and fire venting from windows at the rear of the building. Crews stretched multiple attack lines and began an aggressive interior fire attack and attempted to locate an occupant that was initially reported as trapped. Exterior crews threw multiple ladders and controlled utilities. Crews found fire extending from under the structure up through the attic area due to the type of construction of the building allowing for easy fire spread. After extensive overhaul crews were able to extinguish any remaining hotspots. This fire displaced two adults who were not home at the time of the fire. No injuries occurred during the incident; however, a dog is still unaccounted for. Assistant Chief Eric Denston was in command. This fire is being investigated by the Worcester County Fire Marshal‘s Office. Assisting companies at the scene include Stockton VFC, Snow Hill VFC, Girdletree VFC, and New Church VFC. Princess Anne VFC provided a standby crew while units were operating on-scene.
